We will take a tour which explains how knowledge accumulated for centuries in the south of the Peninsula and made Seville the economic centre of the world. We will work with the senses, through unusual experiences, to get to know Roman and Umayyad Córdoba and its scientific innovations, Nasrid Granada and its transition to Modernity after the arrival of the Catholic Monarchs, the overwhelming orography of Ronda and the iconic Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where Elcano arrived after going around the world. From this historic port, we will board the Guadalquivir by ship to end in Seville where all that knowledge was collected and the great feat became possible.
We can offer you an itinerary of 8 nights by land and ascent to Seville by boat. This proposal begins in Córdoba and ends in Seville, passing through Granada, Jerez and Sanlúcar. It is done by combining a terrestrail itinerary of experiencies created to mesure with a crossing of nautical activities.

15 DAYS LAND – NAUTICAL
To get to understand why Seville was the economic centre of the 16th century, we will visit the main Andalusian cities in order to know the science and culture that have been developing throughout history and that gave rise to the imposing dominance of the seas of Emperor Carlos V. It starts from the Antiquity in Córdoba, and the Caliphate, the Nasrid Granada and the beginning of modernity from 1492. Once in Malaga, we will embark five days on a schooner travelling along the coast and accessing first-hand the maritime knowledge of the time and its amazing scientific advances. We will visit the historic city of Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera and the mythical Sanlúcar de Barrameda, with its wine and horse culture, to finally cross the Guadalquivir and reach our destination: the Seville of Magallanes.

This proposal begins in Córdoba and ends in Seville, passing through Granada, going by boat through Malaga, Tarifa, Cádiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Through a tour of the most influential cities in Andalusia, we will discover why in Seville there are favourable conditions to carry out the Magallanes expedition. We will work with the sensory experimentation in a unique and exclusive way starting from the flavours of the Roman and Umayyad Córdoba or the unparalleled smell of the Nasrid and Castilian Granada.
In Malaga, we will discover the most important maritime advances, and we will arrive in Cádiz, the oldest city in Europe, in Jerez, where we will enter in the flamenco, wines and the horse’s world, and Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the port from which Magallanes left and where Elcano arrived, who will take us to Seville (by ship on the Guadalquivir) to live what made this city the most important port of the 16th century.
